CBI: What is Dracula the Return?
CHRIS: Dracula The Return is the direct sequel to Bram Stokers novel. It is authorized by and co-written by a member of the Stoker family. Dacre Stoker is an international Best-Selling author and has valuable family insight into Bram Stoker’s life and work. Together we have used the original Dracula typescript as well as Bram’s notes to formulate an authentic follow-up to Dracula. We also re-insert several characters and creatures which Dracula’s English publisher removed from the original text.
CBI: What distinguishes your vision of Dracula from other publishers?
CHRIS: We are bringing the original Dracula back. You’ve seen many versions of the character from Universal’s depiction, Hammer Horror and more recently the Coppola Sony version. However, none of these have been truly sourced from Bram Stoker’s vision. The StokerVerse has remained true to the motivations of the great vampire as well as his visual depiction. It may shock some of your readers to know that Dracula is not a romantic icon in Stoker’s book.
CBI: Is Dracula the Return a single issue?
CHRIS: It is a series which is initially envisioned as having 4 issues. These will tell the story of how Dracula is resurrected and how the white worm is involved. For backers they get a super-deluxe version of the comic with text-based stories and pictures from the Stoker family archive as well as behind the scenes details.
CBI: Chris, how can fans pledge/purchase a copy of your new project?
CHRIS: Just search for “Dracula The Return” on Zoop or follow this link...
