Interview with...
JOHN HELMER "The Internauts"
Plunging into the internet this week is Red Leaf Comics' newest property: The Internauts! The story revolves around a group of brave scientists and military experts who risk everything to apprehend an escaped murderer. Red leaf Comics publisher John Michael Helmer spoke to CBI about the property and its origins...
CBI: Tell the readers about the Internauts. It's an interesting title. What is the comic about?
JMH: The Internauts tells the story about three incredibly brave souls who pilot a craft called a 'Netship' from our physical world to the internet. Basically, every webpage is a place in the internet that one can travel to. These heroes risk it all to go everywhere and anywhere.
CBI: After a murderer?
JMH: Esentially, yes. The original scientist who created the concept of a Netship discovers that his project will be shut down, so he murders the man responsible, takes to prototype, and escapes into the internet.
CBI: To...
JMH: To change the living internet. If he can change the past, present, and future, he can erase the murder charges and become the hero of millions. Kinda like when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.
CBI: So, if this villain changes a webpage on the internet, he changes history?
JMH: precisely.
CBI: The book is a zero issue. What exactly does that mean to fans?
JMH: It has an origin prologue and a short story that sets the tone of the series. I image future issues will have the characters traveling to famous points in time and stopping the antagonist Damien Dybuk from changing history. Their first adventure which is in the zero issue is set on the Hindenburg.
CBI: Where can fans get the book:
JMH: Digital copies always come out first. Download the 12 pager for ONLY 50 cents here:
